Accidents and damage
What to do if your vehicle is damaged
If a vehicle you are leasing is damaged, potentially as a result of an accident, there are a number of things to understand and remember.
What to do if you're involved in an accident
If you have not arranged accident management cover with us or another provider, it is your responsibility to arrange vehicle collection and repair after an accident.
- Obtain details of other drivers and any witnesses. If your company has ALD Automotive accident management cover, use the specific card provided to get these details.
- Take photos of the scene if possible.
- Report the incident to us as soon as reasonably possible. With ALD accident management, call Driver Assistance at 08000 32 32 77 and select the 24/7 Accident Management option. Without it, notify us only if the vehicle is written off. Repairs can be done at your insurer’s approved centres.
- Inform the Police immediately if anyone is injured or if you believe an offence has occurred.
- Inform the Police within 24 hours if an animal is injured, street signs or property damaged, a third party failed to stop, or if you damaged property without owner details.
