What to do if your vehicle is damaged

If a vehicle you are leasing is damaged, potentially as a result of an accident, there are a number of things to understand and remember.

What to do if you're involved in an accident

If you have not arranged accident management cover with us or another provider, it is your responsibility to arrange vehicle collection and repair after an accident.

Accident management

If your company has included our accident management solution, you can access a dedicated hotline for vehicle accidents.

Our solution assists with accident aftermath, insurance claims, and repairs through our national network of 370 approved repairers.

Are repair costs rechargeable?

Damage beyond our guidelines is chargeable, so check what counts as excessive before returning your vehicle.

For dents, scratches, windscreen chips, or seat and wheel arch damage, arrange professional repairs about two months before return.

If not repaired, our pricing matrix applies. Damage under the standard £175 waiver won’t be charged; above that, you pay the full cost. Your contract’s threshold may differ, so check it.

The above will be deemed as Fair Wear and Tear and therefore not as chargeable damage when you return your/you company vehicle.

What do I need to do if my vehicle is written-off?

If your vehicle is written off or declared a total loss, contact both your insurance company and ALD Automotive promptly, authorising ALD to communicate with your insurer regarding your policy.
